DEER CONTROL...
DATE:            May 10, 2010
TO:                Archery Deer Hunts
FROM:           Regional Water Authority
SUBJECT:      Controlled bow hunt on designated  Regional Water Authority land

Bow hunting will be allowed this year on approximately 3
249 acres of land located  in North Branford.  The archery hunt, which
is part of our deer management program, will  take place  November 8th  to December
7th 2010.

W
e will distribute 160 permits for the 2010 season.  Some permits have been reserved for those hunters who took a doe in 2009.
The remaining permits will be distributed by lottery.  Applications will be accepted up to June 15, 2010.

Applicants
must have a valid 2010 State of Connecticut archery deer permit and be at least 18 years old.  Applicants will be
required  to pass a  proficiency test on July 25th, August 7, or August 14th.   Additionally, participants will be required to
attend  one of three pre-hunt  meetings on September 1
3, 21 or 28th.  The pre-hunt meetings will serve to review the
boundaries, rules, and safety.  We will issue the  access permits at the end of the pre-hunt meetings.  During the hunt,
participants  will be
required to use temporary and  a safety (full body) harness.

Two names may be submitted per application.  However, any person's name appearing on more than one application will
disqualify that person.

Additionally, we will be soliciting volunteers to staff a check station for each day of the hunt.  Volunteers who put in one day at
the check station will be guaranteed a spot in any 2011 hunt that we run.  Applications to volunteer at the check station will be
available in late June, after the hunter's lottery takes place.

Please complete the application form and attach the required documents.    Drop off or send them to:
